My tour doesn't start, or starts again from the beginning¶
Find out why a tour isn't starting when you expect it to, and what to check.
Who can do this: All Flook users
The tour doesn't start by itself¶
Is Launch on page load turned on?¶
Open the tour, click Tour Launch Settings and check Launch on page load is on. If it's off, the tour only starts from a button in another item.
Does the page match the first page group?¶
A tour only starts by itself on pages that match its first page group's Page URL. In Tour Launch Settings, check you see Tour would start on the current page.
Patterns must match the whole address, one part at a time. For example:
appdoesn't matchapp/settings.app/*matchesapp/settings, but notapp/settings/profile.
See Use URL patterns in tours.
Has this visitor already seen it?¶
If Show is set to Once, a visitor only sees the tour once. With After, nothing shows on the first visit. See Control how often an item appears.
Is it hidden on mobile?¶
If Hide on mobile is on, the tour won't start by itself when the browser window is narrow.
Is it published?¶
Check the tour says Published. Then work through My content isn't showing on my website.
The tour starts again from the beginning¶
If a visitor reloads the page, or leaves the tour by clicking a normal link, the tour may start again from the first step when they come back.
To avoid this, let visitors move through the tour with Next and Previous. If your tour covers several pages, let Flook take visitors between pages rather than asking them to click links themselves. See Build a tour that spans several pages.
