Create a popup

Show a message in the middle or at the edge of the screen, such as an announcement or a welcome note.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Go to a page on your website where you want the popup to appear.
  2. Open the Flook Builder.
  3. Click Add New Tour or Widget (+), then New Popup. You don't need to pick anything on the page.
  4. Edit the heading, text, image and button. See Edit the content of an item.
  5. In Popup Settings, change the Name.
  6. Under Show, choose how often it appears and the Delay. See Control how often an item appears.
  7. Optional: under Widget, choose a Placement: the centre of the screen, or one of its edges or corners.
  8. Click Save.

You can also start from the dashboard. Click Popups, then New Popup. See Create a tooltip.

What happens next

A new popup is saved as a draft. Once published, it shows on its own, 3 seconds after the page loads. By default it:

  • appears in the centre of the screen, up to 400 pixels wide
  • dims the page behind it
  • appears once for each visitor.

Visitors can close it with the close button, the Close button, or by clicking the dimmed area.
