Publish and unpublish

Make a tour, tooltip, highlight or popup live on your website, or take it down again.

Who can do this: All Flook users

Before you start

The Flook snippet must be on your website. See Add Flook to your website.

In the dashboard

  1. Go to Tours, Tooltips, Highlights or Popups.
  2. In the Publish column, change Draft to Published (or the other way round).
  3. Click Confirm.

You can also open an item and click Publish or Unpublish at the top of its details.

In the Flook Builder

  • In the list, use the switch next to an item or tour, then click Publish or Unpublish.
  • In the tour editor, change Unpublished to Published in the bottom bar.
  • After saving a draft item, click Publish when it asks Do you also want to publish this widget?.

What happens next

  • Published changes can take up to 1 minute to appear on your website. Clear your browser cache and refresh the page to see them.
  • Unpublishing removes the item from your website. You can publish it again at any time.
  • If you save changes to something that's already published, you'll see Save and Publish. Your changes go live as soon as you save.

Tips

  • Use Preview in the Flook Builder to check your work before you publish. See Preview your work.
  • If an item has a button that starts a tour, publish the tour too. Otherwise the item won't show.

Troubleshooting

"Tour can't be published with invalid launch settings."

Open the tour and fix its launch settings first. See Choose when a tour starts.

It's published but I can't see it
