Choose which pages an item shows on¶
Decide which pages of your website a tooltip, highlight or popup appears on.
Who can do this: All Flook users
Steps¶
- In the Flook Builder, open the item.
- On the Essentials tab, under Show on, choose:
- This page only: just the page you created it on.
- All pages: every page on your website.
- Custom: choose your own pages. Click Advanced Settings to set them up.
- If you chose Custom, go to Page Targeting on the Advanced tab:
- In Show on:, enter the pages where the item should appear.
- In Hide on:, enter any pages where it shouldn't appear.
- Check the Result (hide takes precedence) line. It says Would be shown on current page or Would be hidden on current page.
- Click Save.
Writing a page pattern¶
Enter the part of the address after your website's name. For example, for www.yourdomain.com/settings/profile, enter settings/profile.
| Pattern | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
* |
Any single part of the address | products/* matches products/shoes, but not products/shoes/red |
** |
This page and everything below it | help/** matches help, help/billing and help/billing/invoices |
(a\|b\|c) |
Any of these values | (pricing\|plans) matches pricing or plans |
Each pattern shows Matches current page or Does not match current page, so you can check it as you type.
Tips¶
- If a page matches both Show on: and Hide on:, the item is hidden.
- Patterns ignore capital letters.
- Items made before July 2026 may use an older way of matching pages. If you edit their page patterns, they switch to the method described here. Check the Result line before you save.
Troubleshooting¶
"Does not match this page" in the Widgets list¶
The item's page settings mean it won't appear on the page you're on. Hover over the badge to see the show on and hide on patterns.
