Create your first tour

Build a step-by-step tour that guides your visitors through a task on your website.

Who can do this: All Flook users

Before you start

Steps

  1. Open the Flook Builder on the page where the tour should start.
  2. Click Add New Tour or Widget (+), then New Tour.
  3. In Name your tour, give your tour a name that will help you find it later.
  4. Click Add your first Tour step, then choose either:
    • Add Tooltip Step to point at something on the page. Click the element when you see Click on the element you want to highlight.
    • Add Popup Step to show a message that isn't attached to anything.
  5. Edit the step's content. See Edit the content of an item.
  6. Click Save Step. You go back to the tour.
  7. Add more steps. See Add, reorder and delete tour steps.
  8. Choose when the tour starts. See Choose when a tour starts.
  9. Click Save Tour.

You can also start from the dashboard: click Tours, then New Tour. Enter a Name of Tour, choose the page under Creation URL and click Continue. Your website opens on that page with the Flook Builder.

The tour editor

While you edit a tour, a bar runs along the bottom of the page.

  • On the left: Exit, the tour's name, Tour General Settings (the sliders icon), and a help icon.
  • In the middle: Tour Launch Settings (the rocket icon), and your pages and steps in order.
  • On the right: Published / Unpublished, Preview and Save Tour.

What happens next

New tours are unpublished. Visitors won't see a tour until you publish it. See Publish and unpublish.
