See an item again while testing

Make a highlight, popup or tour you've already seen show again, so you can check it on your live website.

Why it doesn't show again

Items set to show Once, Every Session or After remember, in your browser, that you've already seen them. That's what stops your visitors seeing the same thing over and over. It also means you won't see it again on your own computer.

The easiest way: use a private window

  1. Open a private (incognito) window in your browser. In Chrome, press Ctrl+Shift+N (or Command+Shift+N on a Mac).
  2. Go to the page on your website.

A private window starts fresh, so the item shows as it would for a new visitor. Close the private window and open a new one to see it again.

Other ways

  • Every Session items show again in a new browser tab.
  • Clearing your browser's data for your website resets everything Flook remembers there.
  • Use Preview in the Flook Builder. Previews don't count as a view. See Preview your work.

Tips

  • Items set to After never show on the first visit. That visit starts the clock. To test one, set it to Once while you test, then change it back.
  • Tooltips that open on hover or click always show, so you don't need to do any of this for them.
