Add a launcher icon to a tooltip¶
Show a small icon next to an element, so visitors know there's help available there.
Who can do this: All Flook users
Before you start¶
You need a tooltip to work on. See Create a tooltip. Launchers are only available on tooltips that aren't part of a tour.
Steps¶
- In the Flook Builder, open your tooltip.
- In Tooltip Settings, on the Essentials tab, find the Launcher section.
- Turn on Launcher.
- Choose an Icon, for example Question circle outline or Info circle solid.
- Optional: choose a Colour. To go back to your theme's colour, click Reset to Theme.
- Choose a Placement. This sets where the icon sits next to the element.
- Optional: use Offset to nudge the icon left, right, up or down.
- Click Save.
What happens next¶
Visitors see the icon next to the element. The tooltip appears when they hover over or click the icon, depending on your On setting. Hovering over or clicking the element itself no longer opens it.
Tips¶
- If there isn't room on the right, the icon moves to the left by itself.
- The icon hides when the element is scrolled out of view.
- You can set the default icon, colour and size for all tooltips in your theme. See Create and edit a theme.
- If the selector matches more than one element on the page, each one gets its own icon. To use just the first, turn on Only use first matched element in Element Targeting.
