Create a highlight¶
Draw your visitors' attention to one thing on the page, such as a new feature or an important button.
Who can do this: All Flook users
Before you start¶
- Install the Flook Chrome extension.
- Your company needs a main website. See Manage your websites.
Steps¶
- Go to the page on your website where you want the highlight.
- Open the Flook Builder.
- Click Add New Tour or Widget (+), then New Highlight.
- When you see Click on the element you want to highlight, click the thing you want to draw attention to.
- Edit the heading, text and button. See Edit the content of an item.
- In Highlight Settings, change the Name.
- Under Show, choose how often it appears and the Delay. See Control how often an item appears.
- Click Save.
You can also start from the dashboard. Click Highlights, then New Highlight, then follow the same steps as for a tooltip. See Create a tooltip.
What happens next¶
A new highlight is saved as a draft. Once published, it shows on its own, 3 seconds after the page loads (you can change this delay). By default it:
- appears once for each visitor
- dims the rest of the page and leaves the selected element visible and clickable
- has an Ok, got it! button and a close button, both of which close it.
Visitors can also close it by clicking the dimmed area.
Tips¶
- To turn off the dimmed background or change how it looks, see Backdrops and animations.
- If the element isn't on the page, the highlight doesn't appear.
