Build a tour that spans several pages¶
Guide visitors across more than one page. Flook takes them to the next page when they click Next.
Who can do this: All Flook users
How it works¶
A tour is made of page groups. Each page group is one page on your website, plus the steps that appear on it. When a visitor reaches the last step on one page and clicks Next, Flook takes them to the next page and carries on with the tour there.
Steps¶
- Open your tour in the Flook Builder. Make sure the first page already has at least one step.
- Click Add Step (+) at the end of the steps, then Navigate to next page.
- The bar at the bottom shows Navigate to the page where you want the next step to appear. Use your website as normal to get to that page.
- Click Add Next Step. You can only click it once you're on a different page.
- Choose Add Tooltip Step or Add Popup Step.
- Build the step, then click Save Step.
- Click Save Tour.
To cancel, click Cancel Navigation. Flook takes you back to the page you started on.
What happens next¶
The new page group is named after the page, for example "Page Group 2 (Settings)". Rename it, or change which pages it covers, in Page group settings.
Reorder pages¶
Drag a page group by its handle (Drag to reorder) to move it.
If you move the first page group, you'll see Tour start URL changed, because the first page decides where the tour starts. Click Undo move to put it back, or OK to keep the change. Then check the other page groups still match the right pages.
Tips¶
- When you click on a page group or a step on another page, the Flook Builder takes you to that page. A notification, Redirecting to Tour page group, tells you this is happening.
- If parts of your web addresses change for each visitor, such as an account number, use patterns. See Use URL patterns in tours.
Troubleshooting¶
"The Flook editor tried to open … but the website redirected it to …"¶
Your website sent the Flook Builder to a different page from the one the page group is set to. Open Page group settings and check that Page URL points to a real page that you can reach.
