Getting started
Welcome to Flook, your all-in-one solution for creating and managing in-app experiences. We have launched the platform with tooltips, but soon you'll be able to create popups, banners and callouts - what we refer to as "widgets."
This guide will take you through the simple steps to get started and launch your first widget in no time.
Step 1: Sign up
To get started, head over to flook.co and create your account. This will give you access to the Flook dashboard, where you'll manage your widgets and settings.
Step 2: Create a company
During the sign up process, you'll be asked to create a company. This company acts as your billing entity and allows you to organize widgets, themes and templates (coming soon) under a single account.
Step 3: Supply your web site URL
After setting up your company, you’ll need to provide the URL of the website where you’ll be using Flook. It's important that you provide the correct URL as the Flook Player (see step 5 below) will only display widgets on the URL you have provided.
Step 4: Install the Flook Builder Chrome Extension
To make building widgets easy and intuitive, we’ve created the Flook Builder Chrome extension. Install it from the Chrome Web Store. This extension allows you to design and deploy widgets directly within your browser.
Step 5: Add the Flook Player to your web site
For Flook to work on your website, you’ll need to add a small JavaScript snippet to any pages where you want your widgets to appear. This script powers the interaction between your site and Flook.
Here’s a quick example of the code snippet:

Place this snippet in the <head> tag on each page you want widgets to appear.
Step 6: Create and publish your first widget
Now it’s time to build your first widget! Open the Flook Builder Chrome extension and start designing a widget tailored to your website’s needs - our drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to customize the experience.
Once you’re happy with your design, hit “Publish,” and Flook will take care of the rest—your widget will go live on your site.
